Things not to do on the eve of your birthday

I wanted to spend the evening getting rid of the clothes I never wear anymore. I had to get rid of my favourite dress.

Me getting ready to present my homeroom class with plaques at grad.

I thought purging my closet would be a good way to start my 32nd year. It mostly made me feel terrible about myself. I had to get rid of three garbage bags full of clothes that no longer fit. It is a reminder that I'm not as skinny, pretty and young as I used to be. Worst of all, it is a reminder of how broke I am to not be able to replace these clothes for a long time. Lack of money just reminds me of the fact I still have not found a job.

aww honey... I'm sorry you feel badly about yourself! things I've learned since my 32nd birthday... actually, I just re-learned some today:

every day is a chance to make positive changes. I tend to live in the "every moment", but every day works too. If I'm breathing, then I have a chance to improve. Until that stops, every moment is a choice. An opportunity to make my life (or the life of someone else) a little better. And when the breathing stops, well... then won't be feeling badly about myself now will I? haha :)

I LOVE YOU & you are PERFECT just the way you are! Give yourself a hug for me?

xoxo

32 is going to be your year, Janny. Claim it.

And you may not be as thin as you were a few days, but you've still got a rockin' body. Work it.

Love you, kiddo.

It is more a fact that I don't have many clothes that fit me. I have next to nothing for spring/summer dress clothes. Spending a evening trying on clothes you love, don't fit you and can't afford to replace is what is depressing. This is a situation will not be resolved until I'm done school and teaching again. Thanks for the encouragement though.

I put a few days, but I meant a few years ago. I'm sorry. It's been one of those days.
