Three Out of Four Ain't Bad

If you really want to look at it, I'm 11/12 in my NHL play-off prediction. I was not expecting New Jersey to play as poorly as they did. Oh well, still an impressive record.
I am having a hard time predicting the second round. A good prediction should be void of personal preference or emotion. The fact is that the remaining four teams are very strong and any could take it. It is strange there is no dark horse.
My dream final? Ottawa vs Detroit, with Detroit taking the Cup. Enough is enough -- Detroit needs to stop being the butt of playoff jokes. (Only second to Leaf jokes, we shan't be ridding ourselves of those anytime soon. ZING!)

So what is with teams tanking, and only one seven-game series so far? Is it just that teams have to fight so hard to get into the playoffs that they are too exhausted by the time they have won a playoff series? Or did goalies like Brodeur and Luongo have to work too hard in the regular season? It's just so confusing. That said, my two finalists are still in it, and I'm still calling Anaheim over Buffalo. And just you wait...Paul Maurice is brewing some Leafy goodness in the years to come. Seriously, they're a high-scoring Swedish winger away from home-ice advantage.

Derek out.

Hasek looks Dominatorish. (And to Derek's point, he got a lot of rest this season).

I still like the Leafs. They have the prettiest outfits.

Derek - This playoffs have been very strange. Usually the teams that have to work hard to make it to the playoffs have momentum and the top teams slack off. This results in a least one dark horse team.

I'm not saying that I think that Detroit and Ottawa will make it to the finals, I said I would like them to. I really think all four teams left are pretty strong and really it could be any combination. I personally think the Buffalo - Ottawa series will be more interesting than the final.

Roger - Agreed. The fact is the man is 42. I don't think he can play as many games.

B- I thought you liked the Blackhawks the best? I vaguely remember the conversation. But I do remember the team had red and black.

That was just out of the ones I thought you had picked. (It turned out I was confused with Detroit) All in all, I once was a hockey fan when the Leafs were a good team. Now, I just like the uniforms. And the sweaty men.
