When I was at the doctor today for my allergy shot, I asked about my toe. It was hurting last night and this morning. She said I had an abscess under my toenail. To quote Ky, quoting Mel's nephew "sgusting!" My doctor is still on vacation sot his other doctor told me a couple things I should be doing to make it better. I'm supposed to go back in if it does not get better in a couple days.

I got a part-time job at a bookstore. To start it is only 9 hours a week straightening books after the store closes. I had my interview yesterday and my training today. Stupid me I was supposed to hand in a bunch of forms today but forgot them at home. I will still get to go to Pinelow. (Did I mention I was going to Pinelow?) I explained to my new boss the situation: my grandparents asked me to drive them. He said he would be able to find someone else.

I'm having some people over tonight for fun and good times. Tomorrow I am driving some friends to the airport.

This is so frustrating! I applied for a teaching job over a month ago. It was the end of the school year and they asked me to rush it in. I did not hear anything from them so I assumed I did not get an interview. I found out today that they haven't even done interviews yet! They re-posted the ad for the position today. It is getting to be the time when I need to let the school divisions know if I am available for next year for subbing.

There was another position that was advertised this week on the newspaper. It was a small ad that it was a high school teaching position and you were supposed to call for more details. I called on Monday and no one answered. I left a message. I had not heard from them yet so I called back today. No one answered so I left another message. What is the point of having an ad that says you have to call for more details if there is no one to answer the phone or return messages?

I dropped off some resumes yesterday. All went well now I just have to wait and see. This one place had the most bizarre application form ever. It was a small business and they had a lot of questions that were irrelevant. Still seems like a nice place to work.

I plan to drop off some resumes today. I'm looking for a part-time job. I'm wondering if it is actually going to happen. I am never going to be satisfied with the cover letters. I really want them to stand out but I don't have forever to rewrite them. I think I need to get away from them for awhile.

I have the stupid "Max 5" chocolate bar jingle in my head. Argh. You know 5 is more than 4. I'm sure it is a wonderful product but Hershey, you need a better advertising campaign.

Ouch again

My toe that was bleeding is now worse. I was looking for my keys in my bag when a cyclist whizzed by. I jumped out of the way and stubbed my toe on my tire. It started bleeding again and now it is bruised really badly too. Through this past couple days, I am amazed my language has not been profane at all. It is miracle in fact.

I had an excellent supper tonight. First a little back story: one of my roommates always buys too much fruit and vegetables when she shops. I get stuck trying to make sure the food does not go to waste. There were a couple of grapefruit, a bag of oranges and a lemon and a half. I made spinach salad with grapefruit, oranges and cucumbers. I even made a citrus vinaigrette. I also had salmon and rice. I rock. My hands are sore from squeezing juice of 2 lemons and 2 oranges.

Last night I got injured playing football. After our Bible study last night, we played football at the park near the church. Graison and I ran into each other. We were on the same team. Stupid me, I was wearing sports sandals. It didn't really hurt but I was amused that I had grass under my toenails. When I took the grass out the one of them started bleeding. It wasn't much and I kept on playing. The more I ran the more it bled so I had to quit. I tried to walk so I would not put pressure on my toe because it was still bleeding.

After football we went out to a restaurant. Near the end of the meal my toe twinged with some serious pain. It was only these little flashes so it wasn't a big deal.

When I got home I removed my nail polish. My second toe is bruised and my third toe is the one that was bleeding. I'm scared I might lose my toe nails. I tired to put ice on them before bed because they were a little swollen.

5 am this morning I woke up in quite a bit of pain. I don't know if I did something to my foot while I was sleeping. All I know is that my toes are throbbing in pain. I am soaking my foot in cold water and took some Tylenol. I am so tired, I hope I can go back to sleep.

Duh

I am such a moron. I got my laptop cooler to work. The problem: it was not turned on. I feel like an idiot. I emailed the company asking where I should send it to get it exchanged.

One of my most annoying experiences as network administrator was a teacher calling me into the computer lab for an "emergency". I was teaching P.E. when I was called away. The teacher needed his computer for the class he was teaching and it would not turn on. The problem was he had not turned on the monitor. A real emergency would have been the time a monitor started on fire (which did happen). Ironic that now I am guilty of the same stupidity I hate so much.

I went and hung out with my friend Shannon tonight. we had a good visit and watched Romancing the Stone. Cute movie.

Overcome by laziness

I have been sick since I got home from Regina. My sister was sick for her wedding last week and I caught a cold from her. The couple days I have had a sinus headache and it does not help my mom sent my nyquil and dayquil with my sister. Booooooooooo. I bought my sister Advil cold and sinus not nyquil.

I know I have not posted in awhile but I really have not felt like it. Not that my life is depressing or something, I just couldn't think about what to talk about.

Currently I am procrastinating from getting my allergy shots. I at least had an excuse the last couple days being sick (often doctors will not give you the shots if you are sick). Now I am better and don't have an excuse. I'm tired and do not feel up to waiting for over an hour. Today I made progress to make it out the door. I even got into street clothes. Maybe tomorrow I'll go.

To recap the last week for me:
* Was in Regina for my sister's bridal shower
* Bought lots of wedding related stuff
* It rained and rained and rained and rained...
* For Canada Day, walked to the Jazz Festival in the afternoon. Had an excellent meal at the Spadina Freehouse. I watched fireworks from the river in the evening. More rain.

I have to still have to pack and get my allergy shot before I can go. I hope to be there before supper time.
